One Chill Night In NYC

Living in New Jersey, It is super simple for us to go to New York City. I am not much of a city person but I do like to go to NYC to experience the food and culture every once in a while. Last May, Christopher and I decided to go and spend one night in the city and treat ourselves to some good food, drinks, and one of the cutest hotels I’ve stayed in.

I wanted to take a trip to the city, but I didn’t want to be out in the clubs drinking all night. This was the perfect weekend for just enjoying the food, culture, and some great jazz.

Where we stayed:

We booked a room at The Roxy Hotel which is nestled in the heart of New York City's vibrant TriBeCa neighborhood. The Roxy Hotel exudes a retro-chic ambiance that captures the essence of Manhattan's golden era. From the moment you step foot into its art deco-inspired lobby, you're transported to a bygone era of glamour and sophistication. The rooms were perfectly designed with a mixture of vintage charm and modern comfort, offering a cozy sanctuary in the midst of the city's bustling energy. I also have to add that I believe this was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I ever stayed in. I am also a person who needs some kind of white noise to sleep, and our room at the Roxy had a built-in white noise machine in the wall of the room, it was perfect for blocking out the busy NYC street sounds.

Although this hotel was a little pricey, I loved everything about it and I would highly recommend spending the extra money to book a room here.

What We Ate:

For dinner, we ate at Max Restaurant in Tribeca and it was everything you could have wanted in a dinner and more. Max is the perfect combination of elegance and value. Quality food in a very warm atmosphere that marries fancy dining out with eating at home. I recommend getting a reservation as this is a hot restaurant and is often full around dinner time.

To start we had the Bruschetta al Pomodoro and for dinner, I had the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, while Christopher had one of their specials, which was a fettuccine with mushrooms in a truffle sauce. Everything about our meal was perfectly delicious as well as our drinks.

For Brunch we headed over to Tiny’s, which happened to be directly across the street from Max restaurant where we ate the night before. I was obsessed with Tiny’s from the second we stepped foot outside. Tiny’s is located inside a bright pink townhouse that was converted into the restaurant we know today. I would have dined here just to see the interior of the restaurant but the food was also amazingly delicious as well! They had a great brunch menu with lots of options to choose from.

After brunch, we headed over to Dantes to hang out for a little while. This was a bar that I had been following on Instagram for quite a while and I was so excited to finally get to hang out there. The drinks were delicious and the place was super busy for a Sunday afternoon. We even decided to put in an order of the roast potatoes and they were out of this world. Definitely check this place out for a drink or even brunch.

After Dinner, we walked around and made our way back to the hotel so we could hangout at the Roxy Bar. The Roxy Bar was filled with good vibes and live Jazz music. We were able to snag a spot at one of the couches right in front of the band stage where they served you drinks right to your seat as you enjoyed the live music. We also put in an order of the crispy fries, and not only was the order huge, but they were SO GOOD. I loved this bar, we sat and listened to live music all night until we were ready to head off to bed.
